Re: TVs forcing user to watch an add class @ct!on when?

For about a month now, every time I go into my Roku, it starts automatically playing whatever movie they are advertising in the bottom left side of the screen.  It’s very irritating because I have to stop the movie or show which is playing and exit the App it's playing in (most of the time It’s the Roku Channel) before I can watch whatever I have planned to watch.  I have searched everywhere I can think of to stop this annoying and unnecessary Irritation.

I too have spoken to many people about Roku being the best streaming device in the world, but I can no longer do that, because not only is it very irritating and time consuming, it is also very confusing for new customers of Roku!

Re: TVs forcing user to watch an add class @ct!on when?

You realize consumers have been forced to watch ads since the beginning of consumer television decades ago.  Commercials, love them or hate them, have been part of the television experience since the beginning of shows being broadcast.  Do I like them? No.  And all brands are looking for ways to sneak in more ad revenue into their devices, Roku is no exception, as all brands of streaming devices, Smart TVs and any other smart devices (including your phone) try to do.  I just ignore them like I tend to do during a show on cable TV as I think there are bigger things in the world to worry about than advertising, especially when I can easily ignore them.   One thing these companies fail to realize when they saturate their devices with advertising is that the consumer will just tune out and either stop watching or just ignore the ads, which defeats the purpose of what they are trying to accomplish.  Not paying for those products speak louder than anything else.  Good luck with that class action as that will go nowhere.

@Dacss  Try going into the Roku Settings/Accessibility/Auto-play video and set it to Off and see if that helps.
