TV forgets channels after scanning

I scan my antenna and local stations show up.  I can even add them to my Favorites.  When I turn on the next time, the channels don't show up on either channel listing or Favorites.  I have to scan every time I turn on the TV

Re: TV forgets channels after scanning

Welcome to the Roku Community, @ProudLonghorn!

Thank you for informing us about the issues you're currently experiencing on your OTA Live TV channels. We'd like to dig deeper to determine the possible cause of why you have to rescan every time you power on your Roku TV.

In order to narrow down the cause of this, we'd like to gather further details such as follows:

  • What kind of antenna do you have? Could you provide us with the model and make of this antenna?
  • What specific Roku device are you having this issue with? Perhaps you could provide us with the model number and serial number of it.
  • When did you start having this issue?

We'll be looking forward to your update.

Best regards,
Carly

Re: TV forgets channels after scanning

Here's what I discovered.  If I'm on the home screen and I go to the menu item that says LiveTV, then the guide, the channels I'm talking about are not there.  However, if I'm on the home screen and arrow over to the icon that says LiveTV, I can access them.  This may be an understanding issue for me but I don't understand why those two options, both of which say LiveTV, are different.  Thanks for your help.

Re: TV forgets channels after scanning

Hi, @ProudLonghorn.

Thanks for the added information. It may be possible that you've accessed a different Live TV icon. There are actually two icons for this, which are Live TV on The Roku Channel and Live TV Guide

We suggest choosing the Live TV Guide for your OTA antenna channels.

Re: TV forgets channels after scanning

I only see one icon and the icon gives me what I want.  What is the menu item on the home screen - Home/Live TV/Sports/Featured Free...?  That's the Live TV option I was choosing that was never showing the channels that I had scanned.
