Re: Switching between ota and satellite

Hi, @Iambobbo

Welcome to the Roku Community.

I understand your inquiry about whether switching from OTA to satellite feed requires a re-scan every time.

Subscribers to cable or satellite TV do not need to rescan. Service providers will do it for you. Rescanning only applies to people who receive their local channels using a TV antenna.

I hope this information helps, and let us know if you need further assistance.

Thanks,

Re: Switching between ota and satellite

@Iambobbo Please provide more information.  If I understand correctly you have an antenna for over the air channels and a satellite provider both connected by coaxial cable to an a and b switch with the switch then connected to the coaxial cable input on your TV.  Is is a smart TV with a Roku interface?  What satellite provider to you have that does not have local channels?  Why are you using the coax from the satellite box?
