Spotify turns off when browsing

I often leave Spotify music on while browsing on my Roku. I’ve had an Apple TV and Chromecast and was always able to play Spotify in the background while looking for something to watch or looking up movies. But I just got a Roku Ultra and I am unable to play music and browse at the same time. At first I thought it was an issue with Airplay, but I tried playing through the native Spotify app and had the same issue. Is there any way to solve this?

That's how Roku works. One app at a time. Apps don't play in the background when you exit the app.

Thanks. You’d think they’d make an exception for music like every other streaming device, especially on the premium models.
