I just ran the ROKU update, and it had already run. Here's what I think.
Once you have the code in your system, it will automatically pull any updates. Roku already did what required the fewest worker hours and would take the least to "undo". Simply pull Spectrum from the menu and the ability to load it. Stopping a channel update would require re-working all sorts of gummed up code.

Hi same thing happened to me they sent me a link. I click on the link it has an activation code and a captcha click. Which I clicked on got the green check mark clicked on add channel and it sends me back to the captcha code again. Over and over for hours. I’ve tried logging in on other devices same thing. Pulling my hair out. Help!
