The sling app says - "cannot load content, try again later" on my TCL Roku tv.The sling app version is 8.1 build 722. I have two other Roku TV's and sling works on those (the sling version is 7. something). I called Sling/airTV (I use an airtv device for local channels) and tried everything they suggested with no resulting fix. They said, 'we'll have our engineers check it out - be patient." Well it's been three days and my patience is gone!
They said I cannot revert back to an earlier version of Sling either. Anyone else have this problem?
You didnt mention your Roku model # and firmware version: Settings/System/About
Known solutions/workarounds for apps not loading/closing to Home:
1) Check for updates: Settings/System/System updates/Check now - try again
2) Change your Theme to the Roku Default: Settings/Theme/Restore default theme - try again
3) Change your Screensaver to a Roku clock: Settings/Theme/Screensavers - try again
4) Remove SD card (if installed) - try again
5) Remove Sling TV app, RESTART ROKU: Settings/System/Power/System restart/Restart, Add Sling TV app - try again
6) Network connection reset: Settings/System/Advanced system settings/Network connection reset - try again
7) Completely unplug power from Roku for 10-15 minutes - try again

I did: 1, 2, 3, 4(NA), 5, 6, 7(for a minute or so) with no resulting fix.
Other than the Factory Reset, your remaining option is to continue to communicate with Sling and wait for them to issue a fix (likely an app update).
Unfortunately, Factory Reset did not solve the problem.
You've exhausted troubleshooting on your end, and if Sling (or Roku) support ask, you've already Factory Reset your device - you need to keep in contact with Sling and pressure them for a fix.
