***RESOLVED - We believe this issue is now resolved and the Roku service should be restored.

We are continuing to investigate the issue.  Try the workaround below as some customers have reported success.  Thanks for your patience while we work to resolve this.

Channel Issue:  Channel Install Error when adding channels

Issue:
Some customers have reported an issue when adding channels to their device and receiving a "Channel install error".  If you are experiencing this, you will not need to contact customer support.  Roku is investigating and will provide an update here periodically with more information.

Workaround steps:
  1. After receiving the channel install error, check your home screen as the channel may have been successfully added.
  2. If the channel install failed, please try to add the channel again as an additional attempt at the install may resolve the initial issue.
  3. If you are still unable to add the channel, try again later as we are continuing to investigate this issue.

Thanks for the posts.

We believe that this issue has been resolved. Please try adding channels again then let us know if you will still experience the issue.

Moreover, to avoid confusion, please only post replies in this thread that is related to the issue. If you have other concerns, we suggest creating a separate thread.

i am in US and trying to add the new ROKU TV Channel.  keeps saying Channel Install Failed but gives no specific reason.  does not seem to allow me to add any channels.

In some cases, your Roku may just need to be rebooted. Try to restart and maybe the problem will gone cookie clicker

I just set up my daughters new TV. She has a 32 inch Hisense. I am unable to add any channels

Factory reset my roku express, now I can't add channels. Please help

Did a factory reset because I was unable to add channels and delete channels. Now it's just a paper weight. And ideas??

I just bought a new onn roku tv and I will not add channels after replacing at the store found that the replacement is doing the same and all my current roku tvs are having the same issue is there a fix in the works ?

I’m having the same issue. Just bought a brand new express 4K and cannot download any apps at all. Is there a fix for this?

My new Roku express is doing the same thing. No channels pre-loaded and unable to download any either. Is this being fixed or do I need to return?
