Roku won't play when clicked

For some reason the roku app doesn't start when clicked .. it just takes me back to the home screen... is there a  work around?

If the Roku app isn't opening and keeps returning to the home screen, try restarting your Roku device by going to Settings > System > System restart (or unplugging it for 10 seconds). If that doesn’t work, uninstall and reinstall the app by removing it from the home screen, restarting the Roku, and then adding it back from the Channel Store. Also, check for system updates under Settings > System > Software update. If the issue persists, clearing the cache might help—press Home (5x), Up (1x), Rewind (2x), Fast Forward (2x) on your remote.
