Hi,
When I try to watch a show recorded on Tablo, I get the following message:
"Your Roku is reporting that it cannot play the Surround Sound video."
The shows effected are a collection of 129 America's Test kitchen and Cook's Country that I have recorded and saved over time. Current recordings do not seem affected.
Thanks for the post.
For more information about that channel's features and functionality, you'll want to contact the channel provider support directly to inquire further. Many channels on Roku are developed and maintained by the channel provider themselves.
Thanks,
Danny
I had the same issue trying to watch live tv on a screen that I do not normally use. After a couple of false starts (rebooting Roku, rebooting Tablo, rebooting cable modem, rebooting router, and updating Tablo firmware) I still had the problem. Since the Error Message indicated that "Roku" was the system having issues I decided to poke around in the Roku audio settings hoping to find something related to Surround Sound.
Fixing it turned out to be easy enough. Changing
Settings - Audio -> Audio Mode from "Stereo" to "Auto (DD+)"
fixed the problem for me.
I hope this helps.
