I had the same issue trying to watch live tv on a screen that I do not normally use. After a couple of false starts (rebooting Roku, rebooting Tablo, rebooting cable modem, rebooting router, and updating Tablo firmware) I still had the problem. Fixing it turned out to be easy enough. Changing
Settings - Audio -> Audio Mode from "Stereo" to "Auto (DD+)"
