Roku going back to home screen

Roku stops streaming every 5 minutes and returns to the home screen. It does this across all apps and channels. It worked fine yesterday, we didn't change any settings and today its having this issue all day.

We're sorry to hear about the issue you are experiencing with the channels on your Roku device. To troubleshoot streaming channel issues, check your network connection status by going to Settings > Network > About. If your Roku device is connected, perform a network and internet connection test by selecting Check connection. For help understanding the test results, refer to the detailed article on connection check.

If the playback issue continues, restart your router and your Roku device using the Settings menu (Settings> System> System restart).
