Roku 4k Stick won't load Netflix anymore

Jump to solution

I have had this model 3820R2 for 3 years, and had been working just fine. About a month ago, we went to watch Netflix on our device and had issues. The channel would begin loading, allow me to select user and then close and go back to the home screen. I have some experience with testing the units, so removed the channel and re-added it and we had the same issue. I have tried powering everything down, not sure why this is suggested and went through same process and had the same results. I have a version of the Netflix app that was provided by a test site I was part of and it works. Not sure why the standard app was working on this device and stopped. It has to be some update that has changed the functionality of Netflix on the 3920R2 device. Please investigate and fix. thank you.

Welcome to the Roku Community, @techmanrod!

Thanks for letting us know about the Netflix issue. We're here to help you sort it out.

Before we dive in, is Netflix the only channel that's acting up? Are you seeing any error messages on your screen? Since you've already tried most troubleshooting steps, it might be best to reach out to Netflix Support directly. They manage their channel on Roku, and it could need an update from them.

In the meantime, you can try these steps, just highlight the Netflix channel tile and hit the star (*) button on your remote to see if it can update. Also, you can clear the cache and data by going to the Roku home screen, then Settings > System > Advanced system settings > Network connection reset. Choose "Reset connection" and restart your Roku device afterward. This might help clear out any temporary glitches.

We hope everything gets sorted out soon, and we appreciate your patience while you work on this. Keep us posted on how it goes!
