1. I had previously purchased this app in 2020 and this week it seemed to have issues functioning
2. I uninstalled and reinstalled this same app in an attempt to fix the issue and was charged again
3. This app still doesn’t work and prompts me to purchase it again upon opening
To summarize: It is in your store and I’ve purchased it twice and it doesn’t work, please reverse this charge.
I hope this is just a software update/store hiccup and isn’t the end of this app. This seems to on all 3 (different) Roku devices we own.
Thanks,
Jeff Peppers
As of a few minutes ago mine suddenly works again. Appears in screensavers list properly too. No new update that I can detect. Roku may have corrected an API permissions change to fix globally?
I think you'll have to try https://support.roku.com/contactus . You definitely shouldn't be charged twice. Does it show up twice at https://my.roku.com/account/purchases ?
Same thing here too. Dashcoop shows installed and I purchased in May of this year. In the last day or so it has stopped functioning and prompts a repurchase.
Similar issue but I cannot even find Dashcoop in my screensavers list. I purchased this app in January and have been using it daily on 2 devices, but this morning it is no longer there. Severely disappointed.
All I want is a simple screensaver that shows time & current temperature and this app was fitting the need perfectly until now.
I saw an update from the developer. It appears to be an issue with the software on Roku's side:
There seems to be a bug in Roku’s device software as I am able to reproduce the issue myself. Roku was able to reproduce the bug and is currently taking a look. No available ETA. Please do not uninstall the application. Hopefully Roku will be able to resolve this for us. My Roku device’s software version is: 10.5.0 build 4198-51. |
I've got the same problem with IP Camera Pro which was purchased 3 years ago. I worked fine yesterday, but today it says it's inactive and needs to be purchased. Unfortunately, I did uninstall it hoping a reinstall would fix the problem.
Thanks for this detail. I guess we wait for resolution. Sad because I bought this for 10+ roku devices and some aren’t working anymore.
I wonder if this is a wider issue effecting several apps. My screensaver stopped working yesterday (Starfield). It shows I have it installed, but upon both preview and launch it shows the Roku movie magic one instead. I also have the problem that it doesn’t actually appear in the list of my installed selections at the moment, even though the settings say that’s the one I have installed. And like others, I removed it and reinstalled to see if that would help - it didn’t, and I was charged again. Well, hopefully they’ll sort it out.

I just manually checked for an update and I’m assuming the app or store was updated and fixed. Not super ideal to be charged again, but a much faster response than I ever expected. Beats the heck out of 3 Roku devices missing an app I background constantly on all of my TVs!
Too bad about Amazon being dorks w PrimeVid/Twitch. Alarming that Google is threatening to pull Youtube. Unfortunate that a potential root exploit probably caused a hasty patch/update/these issues.
Don’t fizzle Roku, you’ve been a solid option for quite a while!
