Is that after a few minutes or a few hours?  Apparently there is an issue that Roku has identified, but Roku is never quick to fix anything.

Re: Problems with Roku device going back to main screen on its own

Mine has been doing this since the 10.0 update from 5/13.  I had hoped the newer 5/19 update would fix but it has not.  I wound up switching to a firestick for now.  I've seen a number of posts on this.  My Roku is no longer useful and why buy another if this is what I can expect.

Re: Problems with Roku device going back to main screen on its own

I have the same issue, not able to play Netflix or video prime or youtube since today. As soon as I click on of those channels, it comes back to the same screen. Very disappointed.

What should we do/reach out to to solve this problem?

Is anything ever going to be done about this?   We are going on a month since the 10.0 update broke multiple apps.  There have been at least 2 os updates since then. No fix.

do I really need to switch to fire tv?  Roku has a nicer user interface but what good is that if nothing else works.  FIX please

Re: Problems with Roku device going back to main screen on its own

Mine started a few weeks ago, either freezing or dropping out altogether- at first only with Netflix, but now with Amazon as well.  Totally annoying.  Can’t find anything related to this on the Roku “support” site.  It also, after freezing (if it hasn’t gone back to home page) comes back on un-synced- picture not in tune with dialog.  Really getting annoying.

Re: Problems with Roku device going back to main screen on its own

Hi everyone!

We are sorry to hear about the issue you're experiencing – this is not what we aim for.

Does the problem only occur on a specific channel or all channels installed on your Roku device? In some cases, removing the channel and then re-installing it may help. To ensure the process is successful, follow the steps below making sure you restart your Roku device before adding the channel again.

  1. Remove the channel: Highlight the channel tile on your home screen and press the Star button to open the options menu. Select Remove channel and confirm.

    • Note: If you are removing a subscription channel billed to your Roku account, you must cancel the subscription before you see the Remove channel option. For help identifying this type of subscription channel, read the detailed article about removing a channel.

  2. Restart your Roku device: If it is inconvenient to reach the power cord to unplug your Roku device, you can restart the device from the settings menu. Go to Settings > System > System restart > Restart.

  3. Re-install the channel: After your Roku device restarts, visit the Roku Channel Store and add the channel again.

    • Note: If you are adding a subscription channel billed to your Roku account, you will need to resubscribe.

Please let us know if there's any difference after.

All the best,
Kariza

Re: Problems with Roku device going back to main screen on its own

It all started with the 5/12/21 update (10.0.0 build 4195-51) that was supposed to fix the "zoomed in" problem on the NBC app...The problem is now all the apps developed by NBCU (I only have NBC,USA & SyFy installed) won't load...Did all the suggested steps & even a factory reset yet same issue..The 4200 build update (updated on 5/27 for me) did nothing...The apps all work fine on non-Roku devices,so the problem is with whatever you did in your 4195-51 build update...It's going on a month now and your lack of fixing the problem along with telling us to contact the app developer instead of undoing whatever you did in the 1st place is not helping & my patience is nearing an end....Mine is a 3900X and I know of at least 7 other people with the same model that are having the same problem.
