Hi @Shloimeascher,

Thank you for your first post in the Roku Community!

We get that you would like to establish parental controls on your channels to ensure a safe and appropriate viewing experience for your children. No worries, we are here to provide you with further details.

Before we proceed, make sure that you are using a Roku TV. Roku Parental control does not work on Roku Streaming players. The Roku Channel has parental controls that use a PIN to protect your streaming experience. When enabled, you'll need to enter your PIN to watch movies or shows with certain ratings.

To access parental controls for your Roku TV:

  1. Press Home on your Roku TV remote
  2. Scroll and select Settings
  3. Select Parental controls

When you access parental controls for the first time, you’ll need to set up a 4-digit PIN (Personal Identification Number). This PIN is essential for activating and deactivating parental controls and modifying any related settings. Be sure to remember your PIN.

For more details, please visit our Roku support article: How to block content using parental controls

We hope you find this information helpful.

Regards,
Riamie

This doesn’t allow that when you turn the tv on or open an app that you would need the pin. Is that possible at all?

@Shloimeascher, it's not possible.  It's one of many features that have been requested multiple times over the years.
