When I use Peacock on my TCL Roku, smart TV, it is the only app that is so slow to respond that by the time it does, I could clean the house, wash the dishes, take the dog for a walk and come back and have taken a nap. And that is just moving up and down or side to side to select a program. If I finally do get a program, and get the right one because usually it’s not the right one and I have to do it all over again. If I finally do get a program, pressing pause to say, go to the bathroom or something, is a five minute ordeal. It can take up to five minutes for the app to pause the video and then it can take another five minutes to start playing it again after I push play.
I read, all the things about clearing the cache. That is not an option on my TV. There is no settings>cache>apps>peacock. In fact, there is no settings>cache or no settings>apps which was also suggested for another problem. There is no APPS on my menu. There is a streaming store where you can get apps, but there is nothing that allows you to clear the cache or do anything other than add and remove. You can’t update them.
Unfortunately, Peacock is one of my top three streaming choices. And that is forcing me to use some thing I hate which is my Xfinity Peacock app. I would like to get rid of Xfinity all together and just use my streaming apps, but I can’t do that if my Roku Peacock app is such a headache to use. Any advice other than just trash it and forget
When problems are confined to a particular channel, it may be that the channel did not install correctly, has received a faulty update, or has subsequently gotten corrupted. A reinstall of the channel may fix the problem, so that is the first thing I would try. This is not a cure-all but at least it will assure you have an intact copy of the channel app's current version.
Remove/reinstall procedure:
Notes:
If the problem persists at this point, it typically means the current version of the channel app has a problem that must be addressed by the channel itself as they are the ones that create the Roku-compatible version of their app and provide it to Roku.
