When turning on the Roku, the logo would bounce up and down, when the channels started crashing that stopped. I noticed yesterday that the logo is back bouncing like it did before, and none of my channels froze. The problem may have been resolved?

I had thought that powering the Roku from an AC adapter fixed my problem, but I was wrong.  I began getting the 5 seconds and then video freeze once again.  I did the 5 "home" button presses and then 5 "back" button presses and got the following:

Has anyone seen a real resolution to this freezing issue.  Restarts and resets have only provided a temporary fix as the issue always resurfaces. This is a Roku software problem.

Just turned mine on.  We watch A&E and that was the channel that was freezing for us.  I've had it on for about 30 minutes, so far so good.

Yes, I've noticed the same. The bouncing logo is back and the freezing appears to have stopped, so far over the past few days.

We have the Streaming Stick 4K+ and are having the same infuriating issue. At times we will have a black screen with the audio playing (YouTube, Peacock). Other times we will start watching something and after less than a minute the display will freeze and the sound continues. Not entirely sure but I think this begun around the last update on 10/25/22. It’s weeks later and really disappointing that a new update resolving this widespread issue isn’t available.

Thanks.  I just changed it and so far it works. If it stops again, it is going to trash.  Roku knows about the issue and it is poor customer support that they will not allow us to communicate directly with them about this.  I’m happy with my Apple TV and Amazon stick other TVs but Roku customer service is bad.  My Roku stick never had this problem.

This issue has so many frustrated.  I think I have the steps to fix it. Try this it worked for me so far and I was ready to trash it but for now it has a reprieve at least for now. 

1. press the Home button 5 times

2. press the Up arrow once

3. Press the rewind button twice

4. press the Fast Forward button twice

5. the restart will begin, though it my take a few seconds and you should see the bouncing ROKU
