I have this issue also but only on MSNBC streaming on the Spectrum app and only the commercials are freezing so far. I have tried all the suggestions listed on this thread to no avail . Using a Roku Ultra

This incident was on Paramount+. Video froze when I fast forwarded. It also freezes when there is a change in activity where the stream had to get additional information (e.g. hitting skip on openings, commercial breaks). Audio continues. When fast forwarding, I can see the preview. On a few occasions the screen just went black with audio going.
This issue has also occurred on
HBOMax
Peacock (in addition to the issue described above, on the live feed of Sunday Night Football, the video would freeze after 15-20 seconds, this occurred on multiple Roku devices)
Netflix
Does not occur on Hulu, Disney+, AMC+
I'm having the same issue. Is it because of a recent update? What is Roku doing about it?
They are literally trying to help us. If you want to be a part of the solution instead of mindlessly complaining, please follow the instructions that Mary-F from Roku has provided.

Started happening a few days ago after an automatic software update.
Changing the roku display settings from automatic to 720p and resetting the power on the roku through the menu seems to help for a while. But then it starts happening again within a day or so.
