Can you please provide more information about the issue you are experiencing:
-Roku device model, serial number, device ID, and software OS/version (these can all be found in Settings > System > About)
Done with the tracker ID
-does this issue occur on a specific channel? if so, what channel and what version/build is the channel (this can be found be selecting the channel on the Home screen and pressing the * button)
All channels. When you select home, all the channels are blinking with no icons. other parts of the screen are blinking too. When you select "system" everything looks normal, I can press network/update, etc. all those work fine. Go back to home and all the channels are blinking with no icon.
-tracker ID when this issue occurs (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times)
Done, see above.
-steps to reproduce the issue you are seeing
Unplug power, wait a minute, plug in power, the initialization occurs but is much slower than usual, maybe 30 secs to a minute slower. Select "Home" and all the channel icons are there. Right arrow over an icon and press enter to select it and you get the "Can't load chan..." dialog box. Press Home and now all the channels are blinking and your Roku 3 is useless.
One oddity I'm not sure of is it says my remote is a gaming remote. I don't think it said that in the past but I could be wrong. I have the standard remote that came with the Roku 3, no gaming remote and never had one. I played around with that but nothing I did could change the gaming remote state.
Seems we need to reload an earlier version to get us back to running while y'all figure this out.
When I get home tonight I'll execute a tracker ID right after initialization finishes and everything looks normal. Then I'll recreate the problem and do another tracker ID. Maybe that will show something useful.
Thanks for providing us with your information.
I have passed it along to the appropriate Roku team who is investigating this issue further. We'll post an update in this thread once we received one.
Your patience and understanding are greatly appreciated.
All the best,
Kariza
All,
I have a Roku 3 and a few days ago provided all the info that RokuDanny-R requested in one of his posts.
I just checked and noticed a new software update for my device: Software/OS Version Number: 10.5.0, Build 4181-04.
I'm very happy to report that downloading this software update appears to have solved my channel loading problems (couldn't load any), so if you're still having this problem please check to see if you have a software update and download it.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for the posts.
Have you tried checking for a system update in Setting > System > System update > check now and then restarting your Roku device to see if the issue still occurs?
If you are still experiencing an issue after checking for an update and restarting your device, can you please provide us the following information:
-Roku device model, serial number, device ID, and software OS/version (these can all be found in Settings > System > About)
-does this issue occur on a specific channel? if so, what channel and what version/build is the channel (this can be found be selecting the channel on the Home screen and pressing the * button)
-tracker ID when this issue occurs (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times)
-steps to reproduce the issue you are seeing
With more detailed information we will be able to investigate further.
Thanks,
Danny
I'm getting the can't run channel error, despite manually checking for updates. Roku shows I am updated as of 10:51 am 10/16. I have reset the system. Nothing wrong with internet or signal.
What is the "can run channel error?" How about providing details of what you're doing, and the equipment involved?
Roku model number and software version ("latest" is never an answer). Settings > System > About
What apps give the message? Name three, don't say "all." What is the app version/build of those three?
What exactly does the message say? Exactly, don't paraphrase or offer an interpretation. Word for word.
Is the error the same for all three apps? If different, what does each say?

I updated my Roku to software version 10.5.0 Bld 4187. I now get a Can't Run Channel banner with the massage iPlayer could not be run because it could not be reinstalled from the network. Please check your network connection and try again.
This happens for all channels. Checked the network connection and Roku confirms it has a wi-fi connection through the roster to the internet. Please advise resolution as my 92 year old mother relies on this unit to get to her religious programs.
@SPDarragh, restart everything - gateway/modem/router and Roku. Just unplug the power from everything for several seconds and plug them back in.
Danny- Tired of Roku issue. Can't watch during the day for more than five minutes. After 10:30PM it works like charm. No issue what so ever so it looks like the Roku server is not able to handle the load.
