I am reaching out as a long-time user of Roku TV to express my deep concern and frustration regarding the political advertisements for Pierre Poilievre that have been appearing on my device. My isssue is the fact that the content of these ads is entirely misleading and filled with misinformation.
As a company that provides a platform for content delivery, I believe Roku has a responsibility to ensure that political advertisements meet a standard of honesty and integrity. Allowing blatantly false claims to be broadcast to viewers is not just irresponsible—it actively contributes to the spread of misinformation. If political ads are to be run on your platform, there should be at least some level of fact-checking in place to prevent outright deception.
I urge Roku to review its policies on political advertising and take steps to prevent misleading or dishonest ads from being displayed. If this cannot be ensured, then I strongly encourage Roku to reconsider allowing political ads altogether.
