Model 3930R Roku Express HD Audio sync issues

I’m so disappointed with my new Roku devices. I have an older Roku model that I love so when we got rid of cable and went to online streaming service, I bought several Model 3930R Roku Express HD devices for our other TVs.

We have had problems with the audio and video being out of sync. I’ve seen various other articles about this issue but the fixes don’t work because we do not seem to have the same audio choices.

We are very frustrated and about to replace all of our Roku devices with a different devices. Help!

Re: Model 3930R Roku Express HD Audio sync issues

Audio latency can have several sources/causes, ergo several fixes may be used. There is no "one fix" because there is no "one cause".

1) App/content caused:

   A) Pause, Play again - try again

   B) RW, Play again - try again

   C) Reload content/stream - try again

   D) Reload app - try again

2) Roku configuration caused:

   A) Switch Settings/Audio/HDMI = Auto passthrough (if available - model specific) - try again

   B) Switch Settings/Audio/HDMI = PCM-Stereo - try again

   C) Disable all Volume modes/Sound Settings:  During playback press Options (*)/Sound Mode=off  or Volume Mode=off  - try again

   D) Restart Roku: Settings/System/System restart/Restart - try again

3) HDMI CEC caused:

The most effective "fix" is to power everything (Roku/TV/AVR/Soundbar/etc) off completely and unplug them all from AC for 5-10 minutes, then power them on in the following order:

   A) AVR/Soundbar fully on.

   B) TV fully on.

   C) Devices connected to AVR/Soundbar fully on.

   D) Devices connected to TV fully on.

4) TV/AVR/other device configuration caused:

   A) Go into the Audio and/or CEC settings of your TV/Display/Projector/AVR/Soundbar

   B) Disable/set = 0 all Audio Latency/Lip Sync handling - try again

   C) Enable/set = desired amount Audio Latency/Lip Sync handling (enable Bypass if available) - try again

   D) Unplug all equipment from AC power for 5-10 minutes after making changes - try again

Re: Model 3930R Roku Express HD Audio sync issues

Thank you. This seems really complex to watch the Olympics on my ATT TV app. No play back. We’ve unplugged everything. Reinstalled all the apps. Adjusted every audio setting we have located on Roku as well as TV. Might be okay for about an hour after tinkering but then I hear the audio repeat a couple of words or phrase and we off again…

@BunnyB

Try the fixes under option 1 - if those dont work a simple Restart (Settings/System/System restart/Restart) should take care of it.

(FYI, I've seen several complaints about this with the ATT TV app - you probably should contact ATT about it, they may need to issue an app update or a server-side fix)

Thanks. I don’t asked to ATT TV and they are saying it’s a Roku issue. No surprise there. I have a Visio TV and ATT TV isn’t even an option yet. 🙁 That’s why we got a Roku.
