Hulu not playing ads correctly and then freezing

Many shows are doing this to me. I will play a show on Hulu, then it will go to ads, with the ad sticker on the top right and the countdown for it, but the image is a still of the show and the audio is the ad audio. The ad counter doesn't count down. Then the show audio comes back but the image is still frozen. Sometimes I get an error message. I have updated the roku, updated Hulu, removed Hulu and reset the roku then added Hulu back, nothing works. This is very frustrating.

What model and model number is your Roku?  (Check via Settings > System > About)

Hulu says its current Roku app, version 6.6.3 or higher, is compatible with the following Roku models, running Roku operating software version 8.1 or higher:

Roku Ultra
Roku Premiere and Premiere+
Roku Express and Express+
Roku 3 and 4
Roku 2 (model 4210X)
Roku Streaming Stick (model 3500X or later)
Roku TV
4k Roku TV

Some earlier Roku models can still run the earlier "Classic Hulu app". They can watch videos from the Hulu streaming library, but they will not have access to certain features, Premium Add-ons, or live TV:

Roku 2 (model 2720X)
Roku 1 (model 2710X)
Roku LT (model 2700X)

Mines doing the exact same thing. Was on Hulu chat for over an hour and they said they're working on finding a fix.  My Roku express is completely up to date and tried the whole uninstall/reinstall thing.

I have a new Roku TV and this same thing is happening. I updated both the Roku and Hulu, uninstalled and reinstalled and it still is not working. Did they give you a fix yet?
