I have a suggestion about what's going on. Perhaps @RokuDanny-R or @RokuMary-F or @RokuKariza-D can confirm.
You said this:

If you're billing through Roku, you don't have an HBO Max account. Well, not directly. Roku is probably managing that. So, calling them, they won't know who you are. You don't have an account; Roku does (kinda). Now, how an email copied you, I'm uncertain, but at least the part about HBO Max not recognizing you makes sense. The "crazy email" might be a forwarding account or alias that Roku uses when they are the manager of the service (HBO Max, in this instance) account.
Keep in mind that if you have a subscription through Roku pay, it's only useful on a Roku device. You can't log in on any non-Roku device, and you can only access on a Roku device tied to your account. That is, if you visit a family member with a Roku, you can't use your HBO Max account there. It's only on your Roku devices.
If you were to subscribe directly to HBO Max, you have to log in on all your devices, Roku and otherwise, to watch. But you can.
Anyway, let's wait on one of the Roku folks mentioned above to weigh in.

That info is greatly appreciated. My big concern is- it’s always been my info and it somehow just changed and I can’t log onto hbo now on any tv in my home bcs of the new account name and email. The only tv it works on is the one that’s not logged out ( thank god) .
And if Roku Pay or Roku just did this change - wouldn’t they have notified me, and why the change now? But I agree it seems like an auto generated email for sure.. so what you’re saying makes sense- but why all of a sudden now and no notification of it.
