Performed the step-by-step procedure as posted by herronmt on 11 Nov 2020. It worked just as described. When re-subscribing to the Great Courses Plus (GCP) channel I was required by the Roku interface to enter my GCP username and password. That was it. All of my selected courses appear to be present and bookmarked to the correct episode. Thanks herronmt!
This finally worked. Thank you to herronmt for giving such precise instructions.
Great Courses got back to me as well, with more general instructions to delete and reinstall.
But by doing it in exactly the way herronmt suggested, it worked right away!!!
Thank you so much for posting. I will send these instructions back to GCP
yes, now this works. I had essentially done these same steps originally, so apparently TGC upgraded their software.
Thanks to all for posting, and thanks to herronmt for the steps to get it started again!
Perfect! Thank you! This worked! (And on a side note, after we notified TGCP customer service, they did give us partial credit for the days we missed this month.)
So they probably updated the Channel which I would expect works also.
herronmt,
Great, your instructions worked, although I was annoyed at having to type in my very long e-mail and passwords.
So, who caused this problem, the Update ? Does this mean, as I reasoned that Roku was the one that dropped the ball, insisting that GTCPlus was to blame ?
Thanks very much !
Except it JUST started happening again. This is a $20.00 a month account. I will NOT relax.
When I click the *button it doesn't even list "Remove channel" as an option. Only:
My rating
Move channel
Manage subscription
Check for updates
Give us feedback.
None of those options do an thing to solve my problem. All my other channels have "Remove channel" as an option. WTF?
That is bizarre. I just added great Ciurses and removed it without hitch.
If you are using a MicroSD memory pull it out.
Do Settings/System.System update && system restart
Maybe then you'll be able to remove it.
There really should be an ADMIn way to do this but alas.
You should log out of the session with the Channel.
A factory reset might be in order.
Good Luck
PS. you can also go to Streaming Channels in Home find your Channel
it and try removing it from there.
The remove channel, restart, re-subscribe to channel worked fine for me.
