Hi, when I search for a movie I do not see the option to watch or rent/buy on Apple TV, even if it’s exclusive to Apple (Cherry for example). Also some movies seem to show up that are on Google Play while others do not. Vudu/Fandango/Prime seem to be the only consistent ones.
Apple TV results do seem to show up but only for TV shows. So what is going on here? I tried uninstalling the app and restarting. I’m fairly sure I remember seeing movies would show as watch options under Apple TV previously, so not sure what happened.
To show up in search, content providers have to make the data available to Roku. Here is a list of search partners (though it is from several months ago so it might not be exact.)
Thanks. I don’t see Apple on there, but then why would Apple TV shows be listed in search results?
Hi @bossland9,
Thanks for the post.
For more information about that channel's features and functionality, you'll want to contact the channel provider support directly to inquire further. Many channels on Roku are developed and maintained by the channel provider themselves.
You can reach Apple TV support here: https://support.apple.com/tv
Thanks,
Mary
Thanks. They didn't really have any information.
Can anyone else confirm they are seeing the same thing? Only apple tv results show for tv shows and not for movies? And does anyone remember if movie results did show apple tv as an option?
I have confirmed with others that this is an issue. Apple and Roku have not provided any help. How can we get this issue more visible?
