I have a Roku Ultra (4800x) that I've been using for quite a few months. It has been functioning perfectly the entire time I've had it. Today when I went in to the Disney Plus app, it no longer recognizes my 4K playback capabilities. These have been functioning fine in this app as recently as 2 weeks ago (I watched all of "Book of Boba Fett" in 4K Dolby Vision). Nothing about my setup has changed. The Roku itself still auto-detects my display correctly as being 4K with Dolby Vision capabilities. I have verified that Netflix and HBO still detect and offer Dolby Vision on applicable titles. The issue seems to lie only on the Disney Plus app. Any thoughts/help would be appreciated.
The D+ app updated yesterday, and the updated version has broken A/V quality tagging - it still plays in 4K/DV/HDR10/Atmos/5.1/etc, but the tagging is missing/incorrect.
You should contact D+ about the tagging issue with the latest app update.
I’m having the exact same issue with the same player (4800x) I thought it was just me. I just noticed it today. Uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Rebooted the Roku, changed the display types (4k 30, 60, auto detect) nothing works. I also have another 4k tv with a different player (4630X) and it’s doing the same thing.
Its simply a cosmetic issue (missing/incorrect tagging) caused by the latest app update - the actual stream is correct relative to your system's configuration/capabilities.
Again, you should contact D+ and report it (the more its reported, the sooner its fixed).
