Disney+ Gives a 400 error when attempting to search.

Not sure if this has been happening for a while or not, but we just saw it today. When we attempt to search on Disney+ it immediately gives a "Status: 400, Reason: invalidRequest". I've logged out, removed the channel and reinstalled but it still gives the same result.

Re: Disney+ Gives a 400 error when attempting to search.

After removing a channel, best practice is to clear the Roku's memory by restarting it before reinstalling the channel.   Did you do this?  Without the restart you may not get a clean reinstall.

Depending on your Roku model and Roku version number you'll find the System restart option under either Settings > System or Settings > System > Power ... or just unplug from its power source for a few seconds then plug back in.

Re: Disney+ Gives a 400 error when attempting to search.

I've dealt with issues like this before so I know the typical process. I signed out, removed the channel, restarted the TV (It's a TCL Roku TV), then added the channel and logged in. Nothing changed unfortunately.

Re: Disney+ Gives a 400 error when attempting to search.

Just to be sure...

Most of us have our Roku TV's Fast Start option enabled so the set just goes into a standby mode when turned off and doesn't have to do a lengthy full startup when turned on.  In this case turning your set off and back on doesn't clear the memory cache the way a full restart does.

For a full restart, either use the Settings..System..Power..System restart..Restart menu path mentioned previously or unplug the set's power for a few seconds.

I am aware of the difference and use the power restart option.

@naviathan

Thanks for the post.

For more information about that channel's error codes and functionality, you'll want to contact Disney+ support directly to inquire further. Many channels on Roku are developed and maintained by the channel provider themselves.

You can reach Disney+ support here: https://help.disneyplus.com/csp

Thanks,
Danny
