Cross-level channel discrepancy

I have 4 levels of Roku devices (Ultra, Soundbar, Stick, and Express).  I have an ESPN+ account and my cable package includes ESPN. On my Soundbar, Stick, and Express devices the ESPN app says my cable package does not include ESPN; however, I am able to watch it on my Ultra device. Please advise if this is a device level issue or something else, thank you.

@Mr_Ios

Thanks for the post.

Have you authenticated your cable package on those devices that state you do not have access to that channel?

Please keep us posted and we will be able to assist you further.

Thanks,
Danny

Yes, multiple times actually. It seems like every 2 +/- weeks I need to log in and it always seems to be at different/random intervals. On all devices the ESPN app says I'm logged in and has my cable company name in the top right corner.

Thank you for your response,

Mike

Unfortunately, that sounds like the EPSN channel is not properly retaining the user login information. And that's something that only ESPN can resolve. The functionality within each channel is solely controlled by the channel provider. Roku themselves only provide two channels: The Roku Channel and Roku Media Player. You have to contact ESPN and report the problem to them.

FYI, the ESPN app/authentication process is pretty poor - I  have to single/double authenticate (both for ESPN and ESPN+) different devices from time to time.

You might consider trying the following process (this assumes all your Rokus are on the same Roku account and are all on/connected😞

1)  Go to each Roku and log out of the ESPN app (both TV Provider and/or ESPN Account)

2)  Verify all your Roku's ESPN apps have been completely logged out of.

3)  Remove the ESPN app from a Roku (go to each/every device and verify its been removed, if not, remove it):  Highlight the app, press the Options (*) button on the remote, then Remove

4) Restart all Rokus:   Settings/System/System restart/Restart <-- MUST DO THIS HERE!!!

5) Verify all Rokus have restarted.

6) Add ESPN app to a Roku (go to each/every device and verify its been added, if not, Check for updates or Add it).

7) Re-authenticate each ESPN app (Both TV provider and ESPN account - if necessary if it doesnt replicate to all devices).

See if that resolves the different levels of "authenticated access" issue (I've used it before).
