Roku Streaming Stick+ gets "We were unable to load this content" with ISP connection but it works if I hook to my iPhone hotspot. This happens after the Criterion Channel "splash" screen and before the menus are displayed.
Every other Roku channel I have tried is fine.
I have performed a hard reset and reiniialized the Roku stick. I have cancelled my subscription, removed the channel, rebooted, added the channel again, same problem.
I hooked the roku to a hotspot on my laptop and then hooked the laptop to my iPhone hotspot getting Verizon cellular data. It all worked great. Then I changed the laptop to get it's data from my ISP while Criterion was streaming, first from Verizon and then from my ISP. It didn't miss a beat until I tried to return to the Criterion menus. Then I got the same message.
So there is something different about the ISP's. Verizon works and my ISP doesn't. My ISP cannot figure out what it might be. The even changed my connection to a static IP with no filtering or firewall rules. It is the type of connection they use with businesses. I had previously used Criterion with my ISP over a year with no issues. It's been happening about a week so far.
Any ideas?
OK well I solved my own problem. My PiHole ad blocker had received an update which caused the domain vhx.tv to be blocked. This caused the Criterion app to not be able to display menus. Once I whitelisted the domain it all worked again.
Never mind and thanks!
Thanks for reporting back.
