What Happened To Movieland Tv On Roku
posted on February 1, 2024
Movieland TV is no longer available on Roku as the channel was likely removed due to various possible reasons such as licensing issues, low viewership, or a decision by the channel’s developers to discontinue the service.
In more detail, Movieland TV’s disappearance from Roku could be attributed to several factors. One common reason for a channel’s removal is the expiration of licensing agreements for the content provided on the channel. If the channel’s operators were unable to renew these agreements or secure new content, they might have decided to cease operations.
Another possibility is that the channel wasn’t attracting enough viewers to justify its presence on the platform. Streaming services and channel providers often analyze viewership data to determine which channels to support and promote. If Movieland TV didn’t meet certain metrics, Roku might have opted to remove it from their service.
Technical issues or a strategic shift in the channel developer’s business model could also be reasons for the channel’s removal. For instance, the developers might have chosen to focus on other platforms or to integrate their content into a different service, making the standalone channel on Roku redundant.
Lastly, it’s also possible that there were financial considerations at play. Maintaining a channel on a platform like Roku involves costs, and if the revenue generated by the channel didn’t cover these costs, the developers or Roku might have decided it wasn’t viable to continue offering the channel.
For users who enjoyed Movieland TV, it’s worth checking if the content has been made available through other channels on Roku or on other streaming platforms. Additionally, reaching out to Movieland TV’s customer support or checking their official website or social media channels might provide more information on the channel’s status and any potential alternatives for accessing their content.
Cinema Box IS AVAILABLE, with the exact same content, and a Search capability. I commented on it earlier in this thread on how to navigate to the Search. It also shows when movies are available with Cinema Box for those in your Roku Save List.
MovieLandTV, Classico, and CinemaBox are all managed by the same developer, as per a ROKU Chat session I had a week or so ago. Most importantly, they NEVER generated revenue from their users (No Ads, No Subscriptions are ever offered or asked for, no premium options are available). They provided me with an email to contact the developer, I have yet to hear back. But, the content is still there.
... additionally, Roku confirmed the developer for MovieLandTV, Classico, CInema Box HAVE NO WEBSITE to visit that is available on the Roku site or from Roku support. I think the provider wants to remain annonymous.
BRO THANKS SO MUCH FOR KEEPING ME INFORMED. I HOPE CINEMABOX FIXES SOME OF THEIR BROKEN MOVIES. GREASE IS IN SPANISH, AND MANY DONT EVEN WORK. BIG JAKE, SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER, THE JERK ETC.
Yeah, I checked the movies you cited ... no luck on my Roku TV either. And learning Spanish won't help that much ... stay well.
Eagerly awaiting MovielandTV / Classico channels' return collectively or separately. If all 3 channels ( Cinema Box, Classico, and MovielandTV channels ) are to be had separately as well, I'm all for that if it becomes a possibility on Roku free channels 😉 ❤️ 🙂

I was just watching as many Faith based movies earlier. Now the system is saying Cinama Box is no longer available. Probably just because of the Star Wars movie and everyone talking about it online. Not cool. I was actually able to watch The Ten Commandments. With no commercials. Bring back Cinema Box please. Thank you.
But you gave no reason WHY???
LOVE the old movies. ONLY place I could find them.
Sad........
@Jib88fer Thanks for the reply!
We offer a fantastic entertainment experience by letting our Roku users access thousands of streaming apps. Sometimes, streaming services join forces, and their apps get combined, or providers might decide to pull their apps from our platform.
Thank you once again for your feedback!
