I was subscribing to Acorn.
When trying to launch channel from Roku, I'm asked to sign in first.
However, when I sign in with my credentials, I keep getting message that credentials invalid.
I've reached out to Acorn. They provided a temp password to use, but this still did not resolve the issue.
Acorn asking me now to connect with Roku to resolve the issue.
Not sure why I need to sign in at all to the channel, if I'm subscribing through Roku?
Please assist, thanks for your help.
Note that I've dropped subscription (expires on Oct 28), in hopes that resubscribing then will fix the issue, but not feeling hopeful.
Thanks for your help!
Glenn
Something to consider when you resubscribe.
I generally prefer to subscribe to channels directly on their websites rather than through a 3rd party like Roku. That way your account is with the channel, not the 3rd party, and it eliminates lots of login problems and confusion, and limits mutual finger pointing when there are problems.
It will also enable you to view that service on any platform that the channel service supports (computer, dedicated app on phone or tablet, dedicated app on various streaming devices, etc.), not just on the 3rd party through which you may have subscribed before -- just log into the service's app using the credentials you established with the service.
Edit: And by the way, I've been subscribed directly with Acorn for a couple of years now, viewing via the Roku Acorn app, with zero problems.
