Cannot see News 12 New Jersey App any more to add on my Roku Device

It just disappeared and Optimum Support says there is no issue with the NEWS12 app and it is an issue with Roku

Where on their Website does it indicate they currently have a Roku app? I see Apple App Store and Google Play Store listed, but nothing about Roku.

I'm not saying they didn't have one, but their Website says nothing about Roku that I can see. I find evidence elsewhere about a non-certified app (formerly called Private Channels) for that service. If it is a non-certified channel/app, you won't be able to get support from Roku, as that would mean they didn't go through the Roku certification process. They certainly could have later certified the app, and it would have appeared in the Channel Store, but I'm not seeing anything. Add that to the fact their own Website makes no mention of a Roku app, and it seems they don't currently have one. Are you sure they didn't pull their app?

I can say this app was always a certified app and I still have it on my Roku devices that I setup a couple months ago. New12 told me the same thing, No issue but I dont think they understand there are multiple apps. I did find there is a news12 app on plex and tubi but its all regions..

I had the app on my stick and had issues logging into it. My username and password weren't recognized. After multiple attempts I decided to remove and reinstall the app. Well that's where I found that the app is no longer available in the app store on Roku. I had the app on my Roku devices for many years. 

Any information about this issue is appreciated. I plan to call news12 today.

ok, it seems there is News 12 New York app on tubi and some other channels, BUT missing the New 12 New Jersey

Not sure that's correct. The app is capable of playing all news 12 coverage areas you simply select the desired area. That of course is the way the app I was using worked.

Did anyone get an answer to this from Optimum or Roku?

I lost the app on 5/3.

No. Can't get a human to speak to at news12NJ . I even emailed Walt Kane! Nothing.. crickets 🦗

I discovered this problem, today (6/22/2021).  The News12 app on my Roku was unresponsive, so I tried updating the app. Roku indicated it was already up to date, so I then deleted the app with plans to download it anew. That plan was unsuccessful, because the News12 app is no longer available to download either from the Roku website or from the News12 website!
