They didn’t mention FireTV though so I will inquire and update if they respond again.

oh and P.s. …. I’m pretty pissed about this response…. I just changed by entire cable/internet plan and bought a bunch of roku sticks…… platforms dropping broadcasters or vice versa is getting out of hand… it’s almost worse than the never ending cable company price increases… not freaking happy 😡

Ah ha! I see in your post they mention fire tv as well… what freaking BULL. It’d be sooo nice if they could have put out a statement at any point after they made that horrible decision. I mean they had to know they would start getting bombarded with such inquiries like ours. 

So for those that only watch TV through streaming (I.e. no cable boxes)….. we’re all just screwed? Unless we want to watch video stories on their website?? No thanks. 

Ever since the situation hit.. news 12 has been seriously getting on my nerves (it all started with that freaking i22 news commercial playing every .5 seconds) so maybe it’s for the better that I find a new station anyway. Not that I even have a choice tho LOL

Ok..got a good one for all of you...I can get news12 on my Roku box connected to my optimum network at home. But at my other place a fios network when I click on it it doesn't load.  Go figure news12 is owned by optimum.

Links in your post don't work or are not related to this issue. I'd edit the post and remove them.

Short answer..the news 12 app is no longer supposed on any streaming device. Only the app for phones is supported.

That sucks.  First reuters now this.

I have the news12 (ny) app on 2 roku devices.  I just got my mother a rokutv and was not able to find the app anywhere. 

The app still works perfectly fine on bot of my rokus.  Is there any way to copy it from one of mine?

Since the app is no longer on the roku channel store, you are out of luck there. If you have an IPhone, you can run the app on your iphone and then cast your phone to your roku with airplay.

So, turns out the reason why is the Optimum Stream service...where they offer an Android TV device and that is the ONLY place you can get the streaming service.

Yeah that's not the same as the old app.

It's gone for good now my son had it on his Roku and the update a few days ago wiped it out. They now offer a streaming device for free on if you have 1g Internet otherwise it's $5.00/month fhttps://www.optimum.net/pages/stream.html or the box.
