Can we have a volume control please?

TVs have many sources, a range of amplifier stages, all with different volumes and controls, it would be great if Roku controlled it's own volume output internally with volume on the controller

And/or a programmable volume control on the remote to use with existing outputs

The lowest end Roku remote has no volume controls.  The other ones do.  The ones that do can be programmed to control TVs.  Roku disclaims controls over other devices such as AVRs but some people report success in having the Roku control the TV and having the TV control the AVR via HDMI-CEC.

The lowest end Roku remote has no volume controls.  The other ones do.  The ones that do can be programmed to control TVs.  Roku disclaims controls over other devices such as AVRs but some people report success in having the Roku control the TV and having the TV control the AVR via HDMI-CEC.
