Sling stopped working on ROKU ultra 4800rw when it auto updated to ver 10.5.0 Sling still works on my older ROKU Ultra, ROKU express and ROKU TV.
I have the same problem, Roku Ultra 4670RW. Started after one of the recent Roku updates. Been on the phone twice in the last 2 weeks with Sling and they said it is a Roku issue and would contact them. Still waiting to hear back from them. Sling works fine on my phone, have been mirroring phone to TV which is annoying. I have done everything including a Roku factory reset. It worked fine after the reset until the Roku updated. Not sure how to stop the update if I did another reset. It's definitely one if the recent updates.

Just an update to my situation...
On Roku3, checked for channel updates, got Hulu and Sling updates. Sling is now v8.10 build 1636.
Still no joy. Same prob, same error msg (27-1).
Rebooted Roku3 without effect. Same prob, same error msg.
Still waiting...
@Karlieman...
Not willing to buy that it's Roku's issue since this only seems to affect the Sling app.
I will buy that the update did kill Sling app and I will buy that Sling wants to blame it on Roku...
Don't care. Seems to me that Sling has some work to do.

Just FYI, updating my situation:
Received new Roku Express 4K+ (replaced one of my Roku3's).
After setup, shows Roku v10.5 build 4198-CR with Sling app v8.10 build 1636.
Remaining Roku3 shows Roku v10.5 build 4198-04 with Sling app v8.10 build 1636.
Sling video feeds fail on both devices.
Good thing I didn't get the new Roku to solve this prob (needed to upgrade anyway).
Also, this indicates to me that either:
- More folks are affected than we previously thought, and/or
- Many Roku devices owned by Sling users have either not updated yet and/or those users have not attempted to view Sling feeds.
Either way, somebody got some 'splainin to do, Lucy...
Hope they get this solved by the weekend 'cause NCAA football.
Still waiting...
I am having issues with my ultra freezing while watching sling. I also first thought it may be a sling problem, but I see here people are having the same problem with other apps too. I currently only watch sling because that's what I am paying for, so I don't know about it happening with other apps. With all the other things going wrong with Roku lately, I think they should at least investigate. Once it freezes, if allowed to sit long enough, the Roku will restart on its own. I don't see how an app problem could force a restart.
Likewise, my TCL Roku TV updated to Sling app ver. 8.1 build 1636, and Roku ver, 10.5.0 build 4198 yesterday. Restarted the Roku TV and still got error 27-1. At least it "seems" like they are both trying to fix this, all be it, unsuccessfully. There must be many Sling TV subscribers affected negatively by this issue, so hopefully, they are working urgently to fix this.
Make it three. Cannot stream anything on Sling, but do have the channel guides. Buffering is very slow. I can use Sling on the PC, but Roku is a lost cause at the moment.
Another update...
Both Rokus updated:
- Roku3 now v10.5 build 4201-04
- Roku Express 4K+ now v10.5 build 4201-CR
Sling app is still v8.10 build 1636 on both units (no update).
Still no joy attempting to stream anything from Sling app.
Roku's update did no apparent good re Sling app. Guess it's Sling's turn to see what they can do...?!?!
Weeks later and still waiting to make use of Sling app...
I contacted them through Facebook messenger, this will be the 3rd time in 4 weeks talking to customer service. They never got back with me after 72 hours like the first 2 reps told me they would and apparently they don't even do that. I asked for a refund for the month I couldn't watch Sling. They don't give refunds. I wish I could figure out how to attach a screenshot of their response.
I paused my subscription for three months. I have been with them from the beginning and this is unacceptable. I'm shopping for something else. Pluto is free and has CNN and we have Discovery+ free for a year with Verizon. I will probably cancel Sling after I figure out an alternative.
