I recently subscribed to Cox Cable and have been able to add several apps to my Roku Premier to allow me to watch the programming I paid for when I am not onsite. For instance, I was able to load the History channel app and it works fine. However, neither the Fox Sports or the NBC sports apps will work. I went through the installation and log-in process which resulted in apparent success (my Cox login was accepted). However, when I try to view any programs, I am greeted with 'sorry looks like you are not a subscriber... contact your provider'. I contacted Cox and they confirmed I should have access. They also suggested I try a different platform, so I tried my PC and I was able to access all the content available on these channels. So apparently, only Roku has trouble authenticating. How can I get help with this?
Thanks for the inquiry.
Try removing the channel from the Roku home screen by navigating to the channel tile, pressing the * key on your remote and choosing 'Remove channel'. Then restart your device from Settings>System>System restart. Once your player starts up again, add the channel back once more. Once the channel has been added back, try authenticating the channel with your account credentials.
Does this clear up the issue you are seeing? Please keep us posted.
Thanks,
Danny
SOLVED
Problem was due to having an expired account on Cox. The credentials for this account are still stored on my phone so if I used my phone to complete the sign-up, the wrong credentials were used. Wish Cox would not accept expired credentials but they do.
Thanks for your help!
