I recently moved back to Canada from the US, where I initially purchased my Roku devices and set up my account. Now that I’m back in Canada I can’t find the Crave app in the channel store.
I’m using an IP address based in Canada, so that’s not the issue. Is there a way to update my Roku account to Canada without having to create a new one? And if not, why?
Why don’t you create another account. It doesn’t cost anything to create another Roku account.
I know that I can, but it seems like unnecessary effort to have to set up a new email address to create a new account in country (or else deactivate my current account and set up a new one with the new current address)
Takes less time to make an account then post in here actually. You now live in Canada. Your Roku account is attached to the US. Therefore make a Canadian account. Takes a minute
Not really helpful since I know I can create a new account, but thank you for your time anyway.
This question has come up before and Roku has never reported a way to transfer an account between regions. All you can do is create a NEW account in your new location and link your Roku to that.
To link to a new account, you'll have to do a factory reset on your Roku and set it up all over again.
(Settings > System > Advanced system settings > Factory reset)
When you set up the Roku after doing the Factory reset, be sure you are connected to the internet via an IP located in your new area (not via a VPN with its server elsewhere). Link your Roku to a new Roku account in your new region. And just to be sure, it's a good idea to identify the account with an email address also located there.
