Version 10.0.0 build 4198 broke DLNA audio

Hello, updated my 4660X (Roku Ultra) from 10.0.0 build 4195 to build 4198, and now the audio in Roku Media Player (version 5.5 build 9) does not work on some of my movies played through DLNA.  The system produces a crackling noise and no audio is heard.  The DLNA server and movies continues to play fine on other clients and devices.

What's also odd is that not all movies have the crackling noise, some play fine as they did before on build 4195.  Movies that seem to still play fine are encoded with MPEG AAC Audio, and movies that crackle are encoded with A52 (AC3) so I think it's this encoding that causing problems.

Maybe something to do with the audio fix for Plex that 4198 changed?  But this is on DLNA.

Thanks!

Version 10.0.0 build 4198 broke MKV format media play on Ultra!

Updated to the new version and now my media player scrambles the audio of all my MKV files. All I hear is a staccato sound coming from my speakers. It plays MP4 okay. The video appears to be okay in both cases.

Re: DLNA playback issue

My experiences are a bit different than those above, so I'll append them here.
With Audio = Auto Select and HDMI = Auto

Stream #0:1(eng): Audio: ac3 (ac-3 / 0x332D6361), 48000 Hz, 5.1(side), fltp, 448 kb/s (default) - nothing but clicks/pops/white noise

Stream #0:1(eng): Audio: ac3 (ac-3 / 0x332D6361), 48000 Hz, stereo, fltp, 384 kb/s (default) - nothing but clicks/pops/white noise

Stream #0:1(eng): Audio: aac (LC) (mp4a / 0x6134706D), 48000 Hz, stereo, fltp, various kb/s (default) - plays fine in all cases with no dropouts

With one TV, which is able to accept DD as input, changing HDMI to DD results in all AC3 files playing fine with no dropouts.  On a second TV, which cannot decode DD, there is no setting of HDMI that produces listenable audio for AC3 encoded files.

All files played fine under OS 9.4.

Model:  Streaming Stick+  3810X
Serial: YH0086377983
Software 10.0.0 build 4198.50
Issue ID:  83-218-726
RMP 5.5 Build 9
File source: DLNA
File wrapper: MP4

A one-minute video of the file playback noise was provided to first level support a few days ago at their request.

Re: Plex playback issue

Model: 4640X Roku Ultra

S/N: YP000L571498

Device ID: 7LC680571498

OS: 10.0.0 build 4198-29

Channel: Plex only (everything works OK with Amazon, Britbox, and Netflix channels).

H265 movies with AC3 5.1 streams are affected. Have tried DTS, DTS-MA, Dolby True HD, all seem OK, AC3 is awful.   Its sounds like a very compressed MP3, run through compression twice, like the whole stream isn't there.

Re: Audio dropouts with HE-AAC on Roku Media Player (RokuOS 10)

I had this same issue back on 9.4 when playing anything over the network, so I switched to using the USB on my Ultra.  Now since 10, can't use the USB with most formats since everything skips like the others.  This is with AAC-LC, not HE files.  No problem with things encoded in AC3.

Happens about every 7-8 seconds.

Re: Audio dropouts with HE-AAC on Roku Media Player (RokuOS 10)

I have a similar issue with my Ultra.

Any MKV video I play from my local storage via USB suffers from audio stuttering every 10 - 15 seconds.

I have repackaged some of my videos into mp4 format to test and they play fine. This has only happened after the last update.

Re: Audio dropouts with HE-AAC on Roku Media Player (RokuOS 10)

Now today I have found that playing MP4 video files is also a problem, the sound is like its under water, its really bad.

So now sound from MKV files skip intermittently every 10 - 15 seconds and MP4 files are also affected.

Please can we have an update to fix this. thank you.
