All I had to do, thankfully, was unplug our TCL Roku tv then plug it back in. Others mentioned to switch the screensaver/wallpaper to a different theme as a lot of recent problems seemed to of happened when the Olympic background started, which is about the time our issue started too but we still have that background and No issues since I cut and restarted the power to the tv.

Thats good feedback.
Different solutions work for different models/configurations (that's why there's a list of workarounds/solutions, and not just 1).
Model: 7104X - Roku TV
Serial number: YN00GN820420 (9S500G820420)
Software version: 10.0.0 - build 4209-30
Issue ID: 20-318-514
having the same issue as others here. would like help getting it resolved. thanks.
My Roku ultra Lt was returning to the home screen constantly, it was unusable. I returned it and got a new, the new one did the same thing, not any better. One day I noticed my Roku scrolling through channels without me touching anything so I removed the batteries from the remote and paired an old Roku remote I had at home to the Roku ultra Lt, it has never returned to the home screen again, THE REMOTE IS THE PROBLEM, it thinks you are pushing buttons when you are not.

Good feedback for others to see a potential resolution when their apps return to home and they get occasional scrolling.
You should probably confirm by putting batteries back in and using the original remote again (and their might also be a remote firmware update) - if it starts happening again you know its the remote (perhaps pursue warranty replacement as well if its within warranty).
Tried using Roku mobile remote. The return to Home Screen happens for me when using Amazon Prime and Netflix.
Hi @adimino
Thanks for the post.
Have you tried removing the channel > restart your Roku > re-install the channel? Try giving it a shot then let us know if there's any difference after.
Feel free to check out this link for instructions to my suggestion above: How do I resolve channel playback issues?
Please keep us posted.
All the best,
Kariza
Roku TV keeps returning to add channel screen randomly when trying to open an app, or browse in the app, or select the movie, or even in the main menu screen. Have tried correcting by restarting modem, using wired connection or Wi-Fi connection, have reset the TV twice. Seems to be getting worse now happening after approximately every three clicks on the remote. No devices are connected to the tv,
I notice that the Olympics picture/channel has been removed, and my home screen has returned to its normal look... I did not do a thing! I am now able to access my channels/apps again...yeah! Roku, please don't mess with the home screen again!
