Thanks for the post.

If you are unable to resolve the issue, can you please provide us the following information:
-Roku device model, serial number, device ID, and software OS/version (these can all be found in Settings > System > About)
-does this issue occur on a specific channel? if so, what channel and what version/build is the channel (this can be found be selecting the channel on the Home screen and pressing the * button)
-tracker ID when this issue occurs (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times)

Re: Are you being returned to Home screen after selecting a channel?

I have a Hisense Roku tv that's doing that on multiple channels ( Discovery+, Hulu). It'll play for a minute, then exit. I've tried removing and then adding the channel back, nothing has worked. Any other suggestions? I'm not too tech savvy, btw.

Re: Are you being returned to Home screen after selecting a channel?

Since yesterday I am having this issue but only on Britbox - all other channels work fine. Have removed channed, restarted device and reinstalled. Restarted wifi connection, still have the problem

-Roku device model : 4200X - Roku 3 (UK)

serial number : 6225AP007751

device ID : ??

software OS/version  : 10.0.0 build 4209-04

-does this issue occur on a specific channel? if so, what channel and what version/build is the channel (this can be found be selecting the channel on the Home screen and pressing the * button)

Happens on Britbox version 1.0 build 103

-tracker ID when this issue occurs (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times)

51-429-807

When I select Britbox it appears to open, gets to the main menu and before anything can load takes me straight back to the ROKU home menu

Update - have now tried removing batteries from remote, using mobile app and then replacing batteries  - Britbox still not loading

Re: Are you being returned to Home screen after selecting a channel?

FLASH!  My TV's are starting to keep locked on to my selected channels. In the last few days, I have noticed/monitored this new phenomenon (lol).  It isn't 100% fixed yet, but much less annoying. I have a feeling that if ROKU actually does fix this problem, they will do so without any fanfare or mention. Complaints will decrease and end and this whole fiasco will just be a bad memory.

Re: Are you being returned to Home screen after selecting a channel?

@jonbeckett

Interesting. A couple of us others seem to have inherited this fault solely with Britbox since 25/10/21 so I had already created another thread about it.

We get exactly the same issue as yourself, app opens, you can briefly see the Britbox main menu banner then it closes again. The app works fine on other mediums such as mobile.

Because this only happens on Britbox, with all my other 10 or so apps working fine, I assumed it wasn't connected with this wider issue. Maybe it is?

Roku Premiere 3920EU & Express 3900EU

Software build 10.0.0 Build 4209-51 for both

Britbox App v.1.0 Build 103

Tracker ID 98-429-935

Re: Are you being returned to Home screen after selecting a channel?

Interesting - yes, just Britbox for me since Sunday, everything else working fine. Tried all the suggested workarounds on this thread and none has fixed it

Re: Are you being returned to Home screen after selecting a channel?

Hi @jonbeckett

The issue with Britbox at least seems to have been resolved. I've just had a response from their 2nd line tech support saying an issue with their app has been resolved. I've checked and mine is working again and no longer kicks me out after start-up. Hopefully yours will be too!

Re: Are you being returned to Home screen after selecting a channel?

I unplugged the set and found the small white button just behind the logo. I pushed and held that for 15 seconds with the set unplugged. Then I plugged it in, restarted it, and--voila--I received the missing channels.  WHY ISN'T THIS INSTRUCTION AT THE TOP OF THE LIST???
