Are Roku added channels in the device or the Roku channel

 I have added a number of channels to my Roku 3 device.  Are these channels saved in the device or roku channel under my account.  I would like to upgrade to a Roku 4K capable device.  Would I lose all of the channels and have to start reloading everything from the beginning again.

Channels are attached to your Roku account.  All Roku units capable of running the channel will then get the channel installed.  Add or delete the channel on one and you add or delete on all.  Link a new Roku to the same Roku account, it gets all the channels, although you may have to log in on some channels that require a login..

Only caveat is that some channels require the capabilities of more recent Roku models and will not install to older Rokus on which they cannot run.
