Apps switching with no remote inputs

Our LG TV just randomly switches apps with no input from the Roku remote.  Did a factory reset on the stick and same issue.  Figured the Roku stick was bad, so purchased a new stick/remote and the same issues immediately.  Any words of wisdom?

@Credline What Roku device do you have?  When you say the LG TV switches apps does to Roku device go to a different app or is this a smart LG TV that is going to a different app?
