I've had Apple TV+ on my Roku for three years. All of a sudden it's no longer working. It started loading laboriously, then just stopped and gave me an error message that my system didn't have enough memory to load the app.
I hadn't added or changed anything. I tried deleting and reinstalling the app. But it just starts to load, then stops and gives me this error message. Every other app works fine, just not the Apple TV one. I haven't found any thread addressing this specific issue. How do I fix this?
Apple doesn't support every Roku device. What model Roku do you have? From the Apple support page, here are the only supported Roku devices:
Roku 2 4205X.
And it was supporting it fine up until the day before yesterday.
Technically that is still a supported player, but real world it's now over ten years old and might simply become unreliable. My 2 XS (3100) was useless within 5 years of release, not because it was that bad but that the app developers were writing the apps for the newest hardware and didn't want to support older devices. I'm actually a little surprised Roku hasn't moved that player into the legacy list (no longer supported) as the newest devices are so much more capable. Your version of the Roku 2 and the Roku 3 from the same timeframe were outstanding devices at their time, but they are really lacking for the latest version of apps and service providers. The Roku Express 4K+ will run circles around players that old, and it's on sale right now for $35.
Thanks. That may be the problem.
