I wonder if it might be a regional thing as I didn't have any problems using it in someone's house in Hertfordshire recently. What county are you? I'm in Dorset.
I had a message from Ilana Peters at All4 support. She said: We are sorry to read you are experiencing issues with All 4 on Now TV. However, we have provided you with a few troubleshooting steps below that you can try at home, which may get the service up and running again.
- Power down your device, TV and Internet modem for 60 seconds.
*Please use the remote that comes with your Now TV box as we aware of compatibility issues if using the remote app.

What is the model number of your box?
Are you using the latest version of the All 4 app (Deleting and reinstalling this should ensure this)?
Who is your Internet Service Provider?
Have you followed all troubleshooting steps provided?
What exactly is your error message saying?

Apart from this minor issue I think the Roku is great, and the problem seems more likely to be with the All4 app.
