After going to tv channel my Roku is back to homescreen

We bought a newer version  theRoku express before we could watch a Roku channel in between go check a tv channel and we could switch like that no problem. Now with the Roku express we go out of the dm1 to tv channel an income back and the Roku is back to home screen???mis there a settin

@Farmer 

I'm not clear on your setup. How many Roku devices do you have? It reads like you might have a Roku TV with a Roku Express attached to it. Is that correct? If not, re-state the issue with a little more information about your devices.

I believe I know what @Farmer is saying - when you switch the TV (non-Roku) source from the HDMI input where the Roku is connected to another source the Roku returns to the Home Screen.  It used to remain in the channel/app and still streaming if it was streaming before the source was changed.  I've seen similar complaints, but I don't think there's any way to prevent that from happening.  Whether it is model specific or specific to some firmware update I couldn't say.

Exactly the old Roku stayed on when we would quick check a tv channel Roku express does not even for a minute....it drives my hubby nuts
