I also purchased November 23 and never received the Apple TV 3 month free trial activation code by email promised upon my purchase. When I contacted customer/tech support their response was to ask me if I opted in for emails from Roku. I have always been opted in and never opted out. This was a very clever attempt by a company to defer ownership of their misleading and false advertising.
Finally succeeded bychatting with roku on IM. They said they would look into it and email me. Took 2 day but they sent a link and a code. The link did not work but adding the code into apple music app did and I am up and running on my free trial.
If you are still unable to access your Apple TV free trial, please reach out to our support team directly here for your 'Account or billing' issue, here:https://support.roku.com/contactus. They will be able to further assist you.
It is amazing to me that you can no longer contact chat support - I have sent multiple "Support emails" that are replied to days later and still no functioning code to activate my three month Apple TV trial.
I have been a Roku customer since the original Roku box in 2009 and have purchased new devices over the years, the level of support has gone to near zero. Unless something changes quickly I will never purchase another Roku branded device - there are too many competitors in the market to deal with waiting for a simple code for weeks while getting the runaround from the people who promised the code in the first place.
If I felt that support actually cared this wouldn't be an issue, however every email I receive back is a canned response for things I've already tried. Is there any U.S. based Roku employees reading this thread that are able to assist?
Try @RokuDanny-R. He's usually hanging out in this thread somewhere. He may be able to help. However, most of us have had to contact Roku Support. It's taking 45min and up to 3 days for some, but a lot of us have managed to receive the activation email or promo code only after contacting support.
@UltraUser201 I've waited over two weeks, have been on multiple chats (when they were available), and have sent multiple emails with no support other than canned replies. I sent @RokuDanny-R a direct message over a week ago and have heard nothing back.
@Ox88 Are you trying to open the link using an Apple device or are you using a Windows device that has iTunes installed? If not, the fine print in the offer says, "Offer can be claimed on Apple devices including iPhone, iPad, iPod touch. On a Windows device, you must have iTunes installed to claim this offer. Windows 10 or later is required to redeem with device. If you don’t have iTunes installed, go to https://www.apple.com/itunes/ to download and install iTunes for Windows. Windows 10 or later required to redeem with device."
