why do I have to re-input a new code to service provider on a regular basis

Selecting networks like FOX,Food network, sometimes ABS or CBS, often require that I get reauthorization from Spectrum.  Why doesn't my current authorization expire?

Some channels require periodic re-authorization to confirm you still are subscribed to the provider you used for your prior authorization.
