playstation vue

Does anyone have an opinion on which Roku works best with PS Vue? My experience with Roku 2 and 3 leaves a lot to be desired.

Re: playstation vue

I've never used PS Vue, so can't comment on that specifically. But both the Roku 2 and 3 are quite old boxes. I would expect any of the current generation would be far better performing than those. Also, there are multiple versions of Roku boxes with 2 in the model, so depending on the exact model it could be worlds different. I have an old 2 XS (model 3100) that is so pathetically slow it's worthless with most channels. The poorest performing Roku I have now is a small 720p Insignia Roku TV, and it's in general OK. My Roku 4 (granddaughter using it), Sharp 4K Roku TV, Ultra 4640 and 3600 Stick all perform quite well with the channels I use. YouTube seems to be the one that has the most performance issues, and all but the Insignia play it just fine.

Re: playstation vue

I'm sorry. I didn't explain the situation very well. My issue isn't with the speed or performance of the hardware itself but with the PS Vue interface. When I use Vue on my pad or computer I can move between channels easily and view the program guide. In comparison, neither Roku interface I've used is user friendly. I can't bring up the program guide and there's too many steps involved in moving from one live channel to another. I was hoping to find out if one of the other Roku devices has a better interface before I purchased one and found out it was no better.

Sony Interactive, who makes the apps for PlayStation Vue, has chosen that interface for Roku. All Roku devices that support that app -- that's the entire current Roku lineup -- all have the same interface as designed and implemented by Sony.
