Re: http://go.roku.com/channelsignup is incorrectly redirecting to https://www.roku.com/legal

it's really quite simple. There are at least several posts in this topic which describe the exact same problem.

I went to a subscription-only site that said it had a ROKU channel, and had instructions to set it up. I followed directions, until it said "go to go.roku.com/channelsignup", at which point the Roku application bombed and sent me to the legal URL listed above.

What part of this problem is hard to understand?

I can't set up the Roku channel. From the sound of it, in other posts, I wouldn't be able to sign up for any Roku channels at all.

Hi everyone,

Thanks for the posts.

If you are experiencing this issue, can you please provide the steps to reproduce this issue?

In the meantime, I have passed along your concerns to the appropriate team to further investigate. Once more information becomes available, I'll be sure to update the Community.

Thanks,
Danny

Re: http://go.roku.com/channelsignup is incorrectly redirecting to https://www.roku.com/legal

A message with a similar URL (it doesn't contain the "http://" part) appears when you select the option to create a profile. Specifically:

Start streaming FOX Sports using your name and email address from your Roku account.

Learn more at go.roku.com/channelsignup

That's not saying go to that link to sign up. It's saying learn more about sharing your email address between Fox and Roku by going there. And then you pick the country, and get the legal stuff.

What you should be doing is simply clicking the "Continue" button on the screen, and create a profile, if you so wish. A profile isn't required, but it does help keep things synced across devices, and remembers your favorites and such. You can skip all that if you want.

To actually activate the app, after you create a profile (or don't create a profile; doesn't matter), once the app loads, go to settings and pick "TV Provider Sign In." Then pick your provider and authenticate the app, then start watching your sportball stuff.
