I'm having same issue with YouTube on Roku: restarted, redownloaded app several times and made my updates. It's still happening. My guess is it's something between Roku and Google. Google Play Movies and TV went away at the same time as this problem started. It needs to get fixed or Roku is going to start losing $ on the one product they have.
It was down last week for a few days then it was fixed or patched or whatever. Now it is down AGAIN. I cannot open regular old YouTube from the icon on my tv using my roku player. Everything else works fine. Roku channel Netflix Hulu Tubi Pluto cw peacock. This is bs man. My internet is fine. My wifi is fine. It’s the second time it’s not working in the last week snd they fixed it already but. Or it’s fd up again. So. I’m complaining again. And when they fb it up a third time I’ll be back here to **bleep**.
So u all are paying for the YouTube tv app. I’m not. I only use the free YouTube to watch videos. Not paying for that extra stuff. The normal YouTube app itself doesn’t open and that is stupid as f. They can make TWO apps and two icons for the roku screen u know. One for the YouTube tv that I pay for and another for the free content that has a billion ads that anyone can het on their phone with internet connection. Linking the two is stupid. Cw has two apps. Cw seed and normal cw. Why can’t there be two icons one for paid one for free content? This isn’t hard. Then if there is an issue with one the other isn’t affected. Why am I the one thinking of this instead of those paid to do so. Where it has been Done already with other icons? Moronic company
We are having same problem: We have two different Roku models and both are constantly having difficulty opening the standard YouTube channel. This has been happening for weeks now and is extremely annoying since it’s my favorite channel, currently.
Only a system reset seems to help and even that doesn’t always work.
We would recommend checking for a system update on your Roku device and rebooting your Roku device to see if you are still experiencing the issue.
If you are still seeing this issue occur after following the troubleshooting step above, please provide us with the following information: -Roku device model -serial number -device ID -software OS/version (these can all be found in Settings > System > About) -does this issue occur on a specific channel? if so, what channel and what version/build is the channel (this can be found be selecting the channel on the Home screen and pressing the * button) -tracker ID when this issue occurs (when you see this issue occur, press the Home button 5 times, followed by the Back button 5 times) -steps to reproduce the issue you are seeing
Once we have this information we will be able to pass it along to the appropriate team to investigate further.
I have the same problem. Just a bleep and gone. YouTube no more. Surprised to see so many people having the same problem. Don't know if it is Roku or YouTube. Hope someone fixes the problem soon. YT is one of my favorite channels and I hate to keep watching it on my computer.
