ESPN and other channels bream and stream their content through through the air via satellites and internet airwaves respectively. You are so brainwashed that you believe these Mega Corporations have unfettered rights to OUR airwaves and utilities.
I would feel sorry for these companies if they werent constantly gouging, price fixing and arguing over their fees. TV is a utility that is regulated or is supposed to be. The new law may stop companies from profitting from the use of these signals companies freely semd over the air. Locast is non profit. I don't know how Uzzu is set up. They may have to change their structure under the new December 2020 law. No surprise it was a Republican (Sen. Thom Tillis) providing more welfare to Big Business like their tax cuts weren't enough.
However, Locast is still completely legal even under the new law.
I would understand your feelings more if these mega-corporations that control cable, have stolen our internet, and price fix were in fair competition. Alas, they are not. Most Americans have one option for internet because the companies are in cahoots in splitting up the pie. Thats cartelism.
Prices for TV that was formerly free in my youth, and paid for with advertising has now spiraled out of control. Familes forced to pay $200-$300 per month for TV and Internet much of it with limited choices to choose the channels that they want. Its ridiculous and a scam. And we are often still forced to watch advertising.
Service is non existent with these companies because they have monopolized their areas and are allowed to franchise out these regions.
As long as they are ripping us off people will fight back. The Good Samaritans of Locast put this together to fight these criminal enterprises.
